Module 2 Blog
I found the reading from the wired article very interesting. There are many different ways of learning and they can be effective. It was interesting to me that even after there was proof of this teaching style being effective it was still denied and not put into effect. The link below is another example of how this style learning of giving kids more freedom to learn can be effective.
The video chat was from many years ago and about many different globalization eras and how times were changing with technology. Going back to this time with new technology and different things such as the internet linking its sites together it had to of been thought to open many doors for learning. Having access to instant answers through the internet was something that was just in the works at this time and is now used every day by millions of users. Every single day technology is changing and developing.
The way we incorporate technology in today’s classroom may seem amazing to us and help students with hands on learning. However, in year to come this can advance even further and things we think to be amazing now will eventually be considered obsolete. Currently technology has a huge impact on education by having many different learning games and access to immediate answers. There are many things that show the global shift such as the pro wise machines being used in classrooms daily, projectors, computers, and individual laptops for each student to use daily.
This will affect me as a future teacher because things are constantly changing, and technology is always adapting. There are many ways of teaching and things that can incorporated to make sure my students are learning. As teachers it’s our job to adapt with the change that happens with technology and with teaching in general.
Module 3 Blog
When I first started watching the video, I found it interesting that he took the time to do an experiment on different styles of learning around the world. He proved that self-teaching is possible and can continue to grow. I watched the second video and I agreed with him about implementing something like this around the world. It may just be the way of teaching especially with how technology is growing at a more rapid pace. I like how he gave visuals for his experiments it helped me visualize exactly what he was doing.
These tie into the articles we read as well because students can self-teach with technology as long as they are given the proper materials, they should be able to figure it out. This can help ensure that those who are digital immigrants are not holding back those that are not. These experiments prove that giving students time to figure things out as a group is a big key to successful learning and it also make it, so kids remember what they learn and aren’t just memorizing it for the time being. These discussions will help me become a better teacher because I will make sure to integrate some self-learning in my class and hopefully spark many conversations. I can make sure to step in when needed and back off when I am not. Sometimes giving kids the opportunities to learn on their own can be the most important. This also helps build independence in life.
Module 4 Blog
In today’s classroom I don’t believe project based learning has been a big factor in today’s classrooms. Project based learning gives kids the opportunity to figure things out on their own and in a group. In classrooms teachers are trying to help kids memorize and prepare for state testing.
PBL is a lot different because this gives kids the chance to problem solve on their own and figure it out. This is good especially for growing older applying to jobs figuring out new jobs and new things for problem solving. Growing up we were not given many opportunities to problem solve and work with one another to figure things out I believe these are important.
I agree with problem based learning I believe times have changed and with it so should the ways of teaching. Giving students opportunities to adapt and grow with the world around us is the bet thing for them. I believe PBL prepares them for the future and getting jobs and helping them to be more independent. The pros to this is how kids are able to figure things out for themselves and this ties into the trials done in the last examples we read about. Given the opportunities kids will strive and push themselves to figure out the information they need to know.
Module 5 Blog
Using cloud ware products can be very useful because it automatically saves all your information and gives you the availability to view and edit team members work as needed. Examples of this would be any google application such as, google docs, google photos, or your email. Things like this are saved in a cloud and can be accessed from any computer not just your own.
The best part of these types of applications is being able to view it from any computer and being able to share this information with other classmates when needing to do work.
Here is the main link for google once you create an account you will have access to all of its features. I use google photos daily it backs up all my photos permanently for me where as with app product once I delete a photo from my phone it is removed from the cloud as well.
Module 6 Blog
What are some of the advantages of your tool? The tool I picked was pint rest I believe there are many advantages to this app number one being that it is free. Second your idea are not limited to an educators point of view. This application can be used for many things.
What are some of the pitfalls? Some pitfalls I have found using pintrest is that some of the links are broken and some things don’t give much detail of what is pictured.
Will your tool still be around in 10 years? I strongly believe this app will be around for the next 10 years and many more to come. People use this for many things family meals, parenting ideas, home ideas, and teaching ideas.
This app is amazing I use it for many things daily. I use it to find recipes and to figure out organization ideas for my home and now I will use it for teaching ideas.
Module 7 Blog
Social media in a classroom lets see before reading the article I read and watching the videos I watched I will say I was not fully knowledgeable of what that actually meant. Before gaining this knowledge I would say no to having social media in the classroom but now my view has changed.
Social media is not just Facebook, twitter, you tube, or snap chat are these the most common things we think of yes I am sure they are. It is when I think of social media but there are so many more things out there. Blogging websites and kid friendly websites and many more are out there we just have to find it. As teachers and parents we worry about what our children may be exposed to when it comes to social media.
If approached correctly and monitored student could succeed when it comes to online world. this is so important in today’s society because most jobs are going paperless and doing work online. Giving students access to computers gives them the opportunity to learn more about computers and how to use them wisely.
Below is a link to a video about how social media is good for school and different pros for this. While there are cons too I believe if guided correctly and taught Digital courtesy kids will excel with online work.

Module 8
Copyright laws I was familiar with not taking someone work as your own and writing about it. I knew that we have to have a works cited page when including things in our papers or powerpoint etc. Beyond this I know of nothing else and was actually amazed at the different laws there are that have to be followed by teachers and many others.
One law that particularly caught my attention was that when using someones pictures or images you must make sure you do not use more That 5 images by the same author. With all the laws on copyright it’s understandable how this can happen a lot without people even realizing it. Some laws I can understand but others can be a but excess because having to look into all of these things and understanding each law can be overwhelming but what does this mean for the future?
With laws ever changing and the world evolving to a lot of online information knowing every law can be a bit difficult. To help with the changes and many laws unfolding I would suggest either the teacher alone or the class together researching laws specific to whichever assignment the classroom is doing.
